Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an organic thin film element having a small amount of external energy needed for an electromigration and having a superior thermal resistance by a method wherein at least one of organic thin films constituting an alternately laminated structure is formed of an LB film containing a high-molecular compound which contains the skeleton of a donor property or the skeleton of an acceptor property incorporated in a main chain or bonded to the main chain. CONSTITUTION:In an organic thin film element having an alternately laminated structure of an organic thin film 4 containing the skeleton of a donor property and an organic thin film 3 containing the skeleton of an acceptor property, at least one of said films 4 and 3 is formed of a Langmuir and Blodgett film containing a high- molecular compound which contains the skeleton of a donor property or the skeleton of an acceptor property incorporated in a main chain or bonded to the main chain. For example, as said high-molecular compound containing the skeleton of an acceptor property, illustrated elements A1 (The skeleton of an acceptor property is benzoquinone.), A2 (The skeleton of an acceptor property is tetracyanoquinodimethane.) and the like are used; as the high-molecular compound containing the skeleton of a donor property, illustrated element D2 (The skeleton of a donor is paraphenylenediamine.) and the like are used.
