Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the burden on memorization of character arrangement by arranging keys for first depression in a group of the left or right hand and arranging keys for second depression in a group of the right or left hand for the purpose of expressing each of all voiceless sounds of the Japanese language with two strokes. CONSTITUTION:Keys corresponding to 9 rows of the systematic table of the fifty sounds are arranged on the left-hand side of a 28-key keyboard. Keys corresponding to 14 columns are arranged on the right-hand side. Keys corresponding to a voiced sound mark, a p-sound mark, and punctuation marks are arranged on the left-hand side, and keys corresponding to the syllabic nasal, assimilated sounds, and marks for punctuations or the like are arranged on the right-hand side. For the purpose of matching the key arrangement on the keyboard to associations of the systematic table of the fifty sounds, which the Japanese is familarized with, and taking the operability into consideration, keys corresponding to rows arranged on the left-hand side are collected to groups each of which consists of five characters in principle, that is, keys corresponding to first sounds 'k', 's', 't', and 'n' of rows and keys corresponding to first sounds 'h', 'm', 'y', 'r', and 'w' of rows are arranged in stages C and D of the keyboard respectively. With respect to columns arranged on the right-hand side, keys corresponding to sounds 'a', 'i', 'u', 'e', and 'o', keys corresponding to sounds 'ya', 'yu', 'yo', and 'wa' for contracted sounds, and keys corresponding to assimilated sounds, the syllabic nasal, and marks of punctuations or the like are arranged in stages C, D, and B respectively.
