Purification of beta-cyclodextrin sulfuric ester salt

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To purify, with simplified separation, the title salt having anti- inflammatory effect, etc., by concentrating to dryness a reaction fluid containing a beta-cyclodextrin sulfuric ester alkali metal salt and by dissolving the resultant concentrate in water followed by mixing with a hydrophilic solvent. CONSTITUTION:A reaction fluid containing e.g., a beta-cyclodextrin sulfuric tetradeca ester alkali metal salt is concentrated to dryness. The resulting product is then spiked with 5-20wt. times of water followed by 1.5-5vol. times of a hydrophilic solvent, thus separating the objective beta-cyclodextrin sulfuric ester salt out.
