Contact lens which changes in color with temperature change

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a contact lens which has the color of good visibility while the lens is not worn by providing a material which changes in color when temp. changes (color tone material) and a lens material to said lens. CONSTITUTION:Poly-r-benzyl-L-glutamate (PBLG) of a cholesteric liquid crystal is used as the color tone material 2. Said PBLG is sandwiched by the rear face of the 1st lens 1 and the front face of the 2nd lens 3. The 1st lens 1 and 2nd lens 3 formed by using hard glass are adhered by an adhesive agent 4 and the outflow of the PBLG in the inside is prevented simultaneously by the adhesive agent 4. The color of this color tone material changes with temp. The ease of storage and ease of viewing (visibility) of the lens while the lens is not worn are thereby improved.
