Abstract

Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily ensure the supercharging capacity according to the output of an engine and to improve the supercharging efficiency particularly in a low speed area by providing low pressure-stage superchargers and a high pressure-stage supercharger, and controlling these superchargers so as to be operated switchingly according to the low speed area and a middle speed area and to middle speed area and high speed area. SOLUTION: In this two-stage supercharging device having two low pressure-stage superchargers different in capacity, or a large capacity low pressure-stage supercharger 3 and a small capacity low pressure-stage supercharger 4, and one high pressure-stage supercharger 2, opening and closing valves 7, 9, 10, 15 are controlled by a CPU 30 for inputting the output signal of an engine speed detecting device 31 according to the engine speed to switch the operating state of each supercharger 2-4. Namely, the control is performed so as to use the high pressure-stage supercharger 2 and the small capacity low pressure-stage supercharger 4 when the engine speed is less than N1, and use the high pressure-stage supercharger 2 and the large capacity low pressure- stage supercharger 3 when the engine speed is N1 or more and less than N2. When the engine speed N2 or more, all the superchargers 2-4 are used.
