Differential calorimeter with a modular structure
Abstract
Abstract The differential calorimeter has a measuring head 1 accommodating two containers 31, 33 containing a measuring cell 9 and a reference cell 11; each cell is equipped with a temperature sensor consisting of a heat resistance distributed over a cylindrical element 39. The heat resistances are arranged in a Wheatstone bridge in order to detect a temperature difference between the two cells. The calorimeter has a modular structure and the cells may be easily replaced such that with a small number of interchangeable elements it is possible to perform a multiplicity of measurements on both solid and fluid samples.
