Parking system

Claim 2

. ·:' -'.·'.·'· .·' A parking system including: metering means mountable onto a motor vehicle and including clock means for determining elapsed parking time; : money register means having a presettable value; means for deducting value from said money register means in accordance with elapsed parking time; read/write interface means for associating said ' money register means with said metering means for enabling elapsed parking time to be deducted from said money register means; and display means for providing an externally visible display' indication of elapsed parking time.

Claim 3

Electronic parking regulation apparatus comprising: electronically readable card means having a presettable value; .means for reading said card means and producing a first ,outptut , signal corresponding to the present value of the card means; metering means mountable in a motor vehicle for monitoring elapsed time, and producing a second output signal corresponding to the elapsed time; and means for deducting value from said card means in accordance with said second output signal.

Claim 4

Electronic parking regulation apparatus comprising: electronically readable card means having a presettable value; .means for reading said card means and producing a first ,outptut , signal corresponding to the present value of the card means; metering means mountable in a motor vehicle for monitoring elapsed time, and producing a second output signal corresponding to the elapsed time; and means for deducting value from said card means in accordance with said second output signal.

.* Apparatus according to claim 2 and also comprising: monitorable display means coupled operative to display information provided by said first and second output signals.

Apparatus according to any of the preceding claims and wherein said means for deducting includes means for deducting value from said card means at varying rates as a function of the elapsed' time indicated by said second output signals and also as a function 'of at least one of the following deduction rate ;..criteria: permitted parking duration and exceedance thereof, free parking times, varying parking charges as a function of time and day, varying parking charges as a function of zone.

Apparatus according to any of the preceding claims and wherein said display means comprise alarm means. .
