Improvements in and relating to filter presses
Abstract
Abstract 820,668. Filters. PROGRESS ENGINEERS Ltd. March 21, 1958 [April 6, 1957], No. 11289/57. Addition to 795,167. Class 46. A filter press tray 9, Fig. 1, is provided with drainage holes 15 along all its edges and the faces of the tray have small projections, (e.g. elongated projections 10, Fig. 2) so that from all parts of the tray area on each face there is a path for the escape of liquid to the drainage holes. The projections 10 are longitudinally spaced by intersecting grooves 20. The corrugations may be horizontally or vertically arranged instead of diagonally as shown, and the intersecting grooves or gaps may be arranged at an angle of 90 degrees to the corrugations. The corrugations on one face are preferably oppositely disposed to those on the other face. The projections may alternatively be polygonal (e.g. square) or circular.
