Abstract
Abstract 716,632. Magnetic sound recording and reproducing apparatus. LOEWE OPTA AKT.-GES. Dec. 31, 1951 [Jan, 2, 1951], No. 30410/51. Class 40 (2). A reel 3 for a magnetic sound recording wire or tape 5 is mounted in a case 1 which by means of interengaging grooves 18 and projections 21 is engaged with a case 2 containing a driving reel 13. A textile starting tape 9 is connected to the reel and passes over guide rollers 10, 12 and driving roller 11. When the cases 1, 2 are coupled together, members 27, 28 and 46, 47 position the ends of the tapes to couple them together. The tapes may have plastic ends 35, 37 which have interengaging parts 36, 40. In a modification Fig. 6a (not shown), a pin on the part 35 engages a hole in the part 37. In a further modification, the part 35 may have perforations which may be engaged by sprocket wheels and the perforations may be engaged by hooks on the part 37. The magnetic heads 16, 17 may be moved as shown by the arrow, Fig. 1b, to engage either side of the tape.
