Improvements in or relating to vapour generators with reheaters or/and superheaters
Abstract
Abstract 525,906. Steam superheaters. BABCOCK & WILCOX, Ltd., and LULY, E. L. March 2, 1939, No. 6914. [Class 123 (iii)] Gases are led from a boiler furnace 2 through a pass 6 containing a reheater or superheater 7 and to regulate the degree of reheat or superheat, the gases are mixed with cooled gases returned in controlled quantity by a fan 13 from the boiler outlet flue 10. A damper 28 in the return conduit is operated by a thermostat 17 in the pass 6 and near the reheater or superheater. The main gas pass contains evaporating tubes 20, a superheater 22 and an economizer 26. A damper 24 in a bye-pass between the superheater and the economizer regulates the flow of gases over the superheater. The gas flow over the heater 7 is controlled by dampers 9 operated in accordance with steam temperature at the outlet of the heater. The combined gases from the two passes are cooled by an economizer 11 and air heater 12. A damper 8 at the entrance to the pass 6 is closed during starting up of the boiler.
