Abstract <PICT:0489654/III/1> A dialysis apparatus comprises two membranes separated by wire sieves or perforated corrugated sheets, the whole being spirally wound to form two adjacent spiral chambers 3, 8, through which the liquids flow in opposite directions. The spiral is enclosed in a cylindrical container 16, and the bottoms of the chambers are sealed by immersion in paraffin wax or an inert mud of quartz flour &c.
