Improvements in recording hydrometers
Abstract
Abstract 444,831. Recording - apparatus. BURDICK, C. L., 4, Eastern Road, Bounds Green Road, London. Nov. 21, 1934, No. 33443. [Class 106 (iv)] [See also Group XX] A recording hygrometer comprises a marking point mechanically connected to a hygroscopic element and mounted for straight line motion in contact with and parallel to the axis of a clock driven drum in response to variations in the length of the hygroscopic element. In the form shown, the pen 17 and ink reservoir 171 are carried by an arm 26 and are guided along a straight line parallel to the axis of the clock driven drum 2 by a fixed slotted post 19. The arm 26 is pivoted at 261 to a slotted lever 221 pivoted at 24 to a fixed bracket 23 and counterweighted at 25. The slot 22 in the lever 22<1> is engaged by a pin 20<1> on an arm 20 which is pivoted at 30 to a slide 301 and is connected by a link 9 to one end of a hygroscopic element 16 adjustably mounted at the other end in a frame 12, 13. To adjust the amplitude of movement of the pen 17, the pin 201 may be moved along the slot 22 by adjusting the slide 30 along a vertical track by means of screw 35, the track itself being adjustable in a horizontal direction by means of screw 33.
