Improvements in or relating to electric plug-and-socket connections
Abstract
Abstract 370,061. Plug couplings. HOMBERGER, E., 36, Gerard Road, Harrow, Middlesex. Jan. 7, 1931, No. 639. [Class 38(1).] A socket 11 made resilient by a longitudinal slit 17 is strengthened by a longitudinal rib 12 that forms a current carrying connection to the terminal. The rib is partly cut away by a bore 14 opening into the socket and intersecting a transverse cut 15. In a modification, Fig. 6, the rib 24 is produced by turning the socket from a blank of the section shown, leaving a lug 21 to form a terminal. The longitudinal slit 25 in this case is adjacent the rib and the bore 14 may be dispensed with. In other modifications the bore 14 may be carried right through to receive a fixing screw from below, or a cylindrical spring may surround the socket or bridge the slit 17, its ends engaging behind projecting lips at each side of the slit.
