Improvements in and relating to rotary pumps
Abstract
Abstract 358,843. Rotary pumps. HALL, S. Z., 76, Victoria Street, London. Feb. 6, 1931, No. 3872. [Class 110 (ii).] A gear-wheel pump comprises gears b, b<1>, upon shafts supported in D-shaped bearing blocks c<1>, c<2>, c<3> which are adjustable axially by means of screws f, f<1>, so that gear wheels of various widths may be used in the pump. Passages d, d' are cut in the bearing blocks to lead off to the delivery side of the pump, fluid trapped in the meshing teeth. Further passages are cut in the blocks on the suction side to facilitate entry of the fluid to the gears. The blocks c<1>, c<2>, c<3> may be interchanged if the pump is to be reversed in direction of rotation.
