Abstract

Abstract 335,448. Caproni, G. Nov. 30, 1928, [Convention date]. Sights and methods of sighting. - An aeroplane is fitted with two fixed machine guns 1, 2 pointed towards the front and rear, and has means for enabling the pilot to sight in either direction without turning round. A telescope 3 for forward firing is fitted in front of the pilot, but should a rear target be observed in a mirror 4, Fig. 3, a hinged section 5 of a retro-periscope is moved laterally until its lower prism is in front of the telescope to enable the pilot to sight directly rearwards.
