Abstract
Abstract 255,240. Page, F. H., and Handley Page, Ltd. July 30, 1925. Bomb-dropping gears according to the invention comprise two jaws 3, 4 on separate horizontal pivots 5, 6 in a frame 1 having a flared recess 2 to facilitate the release of the bomb shackle 8, each jaw having a straight gripping face 7, and the jaws being geared together at 10 to move away and towards each other simultaneously. One jaw is provided with a projection 15 engaged by a trigger 11 pivoted at 12, the engaging surfaces 15<a>, 13 being concentric with the pivot 12. A roller may be provided instead of these surfaces to reduce friction when the load is heavy. The position of the pivot 12 may be adjustable to vary the sensitiveness of the trigger, which may be pulled by hand or by means of a plunger 20. driven by an explosive charge fired electrically. Specification 17346/15 is referred to.
