Improvements in or relating to fastenings for hand-bags, suit-cases and the like
Abstract
Abstract 242,572. Hollick, W. J. April 17, 1925. Fastenings for bags; hasp-locks.-In a lock of the kind described in Specification 240,247 wherein the handle, in the carrying position, prevents accidental release of the fastening, a spring plunger keeps the latch in its retracted position and prevents the handle, which is connected to the latch, from assuming the carrying position until the hasp is engaged and the plunger depressed. The handle is pivoted to a lug 12 and rod 11 connected to the link 10 by a swivelling joint. The link 10 is connected to the latch 8 which is pivoted at 9 and normally held in the retracted position by the spring plunger 16. When the eye 7<a> of the hasp 7 is entered into the casing 6, the plunger 16 is depressed and the latch engages the eye. The lug 12 then comes opposite the transverse part of the L-slot 4 and allows the handle to be swung into carrying position.
