Abstract 9184. Diesser, E. April 14, 1913. [Conventon date]. Sizes and finishes.-A stiffening-material for felt hats consists of a solution of the resinous product of condensation obtained by the reaction between phenols and adhesives. The produt is treated first with cold and then with boiling water; it is then dried by decanting and slight pressure and dissolved in alcohol in the proportion of about 1 : 1.
