Abstract
Abstract 1441663 Infusion apparatus H WEISSINGER 6 Sept 1973 [15 Sept 1972] 42029/73 Heading A5R An infusion apparatus comprises a flask 1 releasably fastened on a casing 2, 3 housing an electrical control system, a tube 5 secured to the flask 1 and connected to a drip chamber 9, and a drip valve 4 or an infusion pump releasably secured to the bottom of the casing 2, 3. The drip chamber 9 lies between a drop sensor including a transmitter 26 and a receiver 27. The drip valve 4 is controlled by an electromagnet 12 and is releasably secured to the casing'2, 3 by screws 33, 34 and may be replaced by the infusion pump. The tube 5 is clamped between jaws (7, 8), Fig. 3 (not shown), one of which (8), is operated by a lever (35) which has a large mechanical advantage and is controlled by the magnet 12. The end of the tube 5 includes a spring-loaded ball valve (37, 38), Fig. 7, (not shown) operable by an extension (40) of an injection needle (41). A radiant heater 42 is provided to heat the tube 5, the flask 1 and a mounting flange 15.
