Method of and apparatus for monitoring vehicles
Abstract
Abstract 1342700 Vehicle monitoring ROBERT BOSCH ELEKTRONIK GmbH 18 April 1972 [21 July 1971] 17957/72 Heading G4H In a vehicle radio monitoring system (e.g. for buses), wherein each bus is identified by fixed and variable addresses denoting respectively the bus stock or registration number and the line and course followed by that bus, a central monitoring station is informed of any change in the variable address of a bus, the fixed address being subsequently sent thereto by the bus upon request. The central station addresses each bus in turn with a signal made up of a start bit S, a variable address K 1 -K 4 (e.g. line 21, course O 3 ), a data request K 5 and a command K 6 . The bus sends back a report signal containing data (K 1 -K 4 ) and its nature (K 5 ). An indication that a bus has changed its course and/or line is sent (K 6 ) with the first report after the change, causing the central station to send a request for the fixed address which is then transmitted (K 1 -K 4 ) in a report by the bus together with a "fixed number" indication (K 5 ).
