Peristaltic pump
Abstract
Abstract 1330833 Peristaltic pumps MARSSON INDUSTRIES Ltd 5 Oct 1970 [7 Oct 1969] 49262/69 Heading F1F A peristaltic pump comprising a flexible tube 1 supported on a bed 5 is operated intermittently by an operating member 7 driven by an electric motor. A roller 6 carried by the member 7 to squeeze the tube 1 engages a micro-switch 9 to cut out the motor which is restarted after a predetermined lapse of time by a remote timer which includes a cam-operated switch to rotate the shaft 8 a sufficient amount to disengage the roller 6 from the micro-switch 9. This allows small metered quantities to be ejected at each squeezing of the tube. A non-return valve 4 fitted at the discharge and 3 of the tube control the metered discharge. The pump may be used to pump measured amounts of a chlorine indicator into metered samples of chlorinated water, e.g. from a swimming pool.
