Abstract
Abstract 1317417 Artificial tendon RHONE-POULENC SA 28 April 1972 [30 April 1971] 19896/ 72 Heading ASR An artificial tendon comprises a textile strip which is substantially longitudinally extensible, and a flexible tube 2 of a material which will not adhere to tissues, the tube 2 sheathing the central portion of the strip. Preferably, the textile strip 1 is wound up on itself starting from the two side edges, as at 1a. The strip 1 may be made of a knitted polyester fibre, such as glycol polyterephthalate. The sheathed central portion of the strip 1 may be impregnated with an adhesive such as an organosilicon elastomer. The tube 2 may be slidable on the strip 1. The tube 2 may also be of an organosilicon elastomer, and may be reinforced with an extensible textile. All parts of the tendon may contain radio-opaque material.
