Improvements in or relating to reciprocating pump liquid dispensing devices
Abstract
Abstract 1,204,103. Reciprocating pumps. LINSON INSTRUMENT A. B. Jan.7, 1969 [Jan. 12, 1968], No. 1042/69. Heading F1A. In a pump the means driving the piston 2 also acts to open and close the intake and delivery valves. As shown, rotation of a cam disc 26, actuates a lever system 22, 19 and valve operating members 17, 18 to cause a single flexible diaphragm 15 to open and close inlet and delivery passages. Cam plate 26 carries an eccentric pin 30 engaging a slot 31 of a vertically movable slide plate 32 connected via a bracket 36 and leaf springs 37 to a piston rod 3 to reciprocate the piston 2 as the cam plate rotates. The intake and delivery strokes of the piston 2 are terminated abruptly by abutment of the piston 2 with a collar 4 on the intake stroke, and the abutment of an adjustable collar 5 on the piston rod 3 with the collar 4 on the delivery stroke, overtravel of the plate 30 on both intake and delivery strokes being accommodated by the leaf springs 37 and also by an arcuate portion 34 of slot 31 on the delivery stroke.
