Abstract 1,091,282. Sutures. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. July 7, 1964 [July 9, 1963; Oct. 30, 1963], Nos. 27044/63 and 42911/63. Heading A5R. A suture comprises a fine thread 23 having over a limited part of its length 26 a plurality of barbs 27. The suture may have more than one section barbed. The thread may be made of nylon, silver, stainless steel or tantalium and the barbs, which may be pliable, are either made of the same material or different material. Needles 24 and 25 may be secured to the suture.
