Detergent mixtures comprising anionic detergents and cation-active compounds
Abstract
Abstract A mixture comprising a multifunctional anionic detergent and a cationic compound, the proportion of the latter to the former not exceeding the molar ratio of n-1/m, where n and m represent the number of functions (reactive groups) of the anionic detergent and cationic compound respectively. Several anionic detergents are mentioned and cationic compounds mentioned include "onium" compound such as ammonium, sulphonium, phosphonium and especially quaternary ammonium salts. The mixture may also contain fatty acid alkanolamides, other non-ionic surfactants and inorganic salts such as phosphates, silicates and halides of alkali metals.ALSO:A cosmetic or disinfectant composition comprising a multifunctional anionic detergent and a cationic compound, the proportion of the latter to the former not exceeding the molar ratio of n-1/m where n and m represent the number of functions (reactive groups) of the anionic detergent and cationic compound respectively. Several anionic detergents are specified a preferred one being a sulpho succinic acid derivative of general formula <FORM:1069356/A5-A6/1> R1 being an alkyl residue having at least 6 carbon atoms, Y representing a hydrocarbon chain optionally substituted with nitrogen or oxygen or both, either of X and Z representing a hydrogen atom and the other is the group -SO3M, M being a pharmaceutically or cosmetically acceptable cation such as a metal, amine, alkanolamine or ammonium. Cationic compounds mentioned include 'onium' compounds such as ammonium, sulphonium, phosphonium and especially quaternary ammonium salts. The mixture may also contain fatty acid alkanolamides, other non-ionic surfactants and inorganic salts such as phosphates, silicates and halides of alkali metals.
