Sealed-contact assemblies for light current electromagnetic relays and relays incorporating such assemblies
Abstract
Abstract 1,021,047. Electromagnetic relays. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. May 13, 1963, No. 18874/63. Heading H2B. A sealed magnetic contact device comprises an annular ferromagnetic member 1 sealed between ceramic walls 4 and having an inwardly projecting resilient limb 2 forming a contact and armature for co-operation with a ferromagnetic member 6 sealed in one or both of the walls 4. Fig 4 shows a centre-stable arrangement, but one coil 11 and contact 6 may be omitted and the wall 4 is engaged by the armature 2 in the rest position (Fig. 3, not shown). The walls may be cup-shaped or dished so that spacing washers 9 are not required and alternatively one wall 12 (Fig. 5, not shown) may be a radially magnetized ceramic permanent magnet. A number of the sealed contact devices may be arranged magmetically in parallel in one relay (Fig. 6, not shown).
