Prosthetic fixation element with anchoring stud
Abstract
Abstract The fixation element comprises a support 2, and at least one anchoring stud 3 joined to the support. The stud has a blind hole 36, 37, 38 and longitudinal slots 39F delimiting anchoring lips 39L. Preferably, the hole is tapped in order to receive a screw which exerts a calibrated pressure against the bottom 38 of the hole in order to separate the lips and anchor them to the wall of a drill hole in the bone to be fitted with the prosthesis. The anchoring takes place preferably without surgical cement and is reinforced by crevices on the lips, such as circular fluting 33. The shape of the support 2 can be adapted to the prosthesis. The fixation element may be a knee prosthesis tibial base or a hemispherical hip prosthesis acetabulum.
