Abstract
Abstract Vehicle with caterpillar tracks provided for passing over obstacles and uneven surfaces comprising ridges. It essentially comprises an articulated arm 25 ending in a jockey wheel 26 which is placed in contact with the ground when the vehicle negotiates a ridge so as to prevent abrupt tilting. Roll, pitch and yaw of the vehicle are measured by cells 40 and the ridges are picked out by infrared sensors 42. Possible use for inspecting and cleaning industrial premises and underground stations.
