Continuous adjustment of the air/fuel ratio of a heat source heated by a fuel
Abstract
Abstract Continuous adjustment of the air/fuel ratio of a water heater with gas circulation, using a probe measuring the composition of the combustion gases, a reference value generator and a regulator, and where, next to a probe 21 for the oxygen content of the combustion gases, there is provided another probe 30 measuring the carbon monoxide in these gases and where the regulator 11 emits a regulating quantity so that one of the values measured moves away from the reference value. In addition, it is provided that, in the presence of a signal requesting the supply of heat, a corresponding signal is applied to a burner with adjustable flowrate, via a regulating member, so as to ensure a predetermined flowrate of the burner, this signal further serving to generate another signal causing the air flowrate of the boiler to vary, the probe being designed, in this case, for measuring carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide and, in the event of the reference value being exceeded, namely a maximum content of carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide, causing the gas flowrate to decrease, the air flowrate remaining constant.
