Abstract
Abstract Al wire is soldered to a Cu part by locating the wire in a Cu sheath (4), arranging a strip of hard solder (5) between the sheathed wire and the Cu part (2) and bringing a profiled electrode (6) onto the sheathed wire on the side opposite to the Cu part such that secure bonding is accomplished through diffusion of the Cu and Al in liquid phase.
