Connector for electrical-circuit card, especially of the credit-card type having an incorporated electrical circuit
Abstract
Abstract The subject of the invention is a connector 2 for an electrical-circuit card 1, especially of the credit-card type having an incorporated electrical circuit 4 connected to electrically-conducting connecting zones 5 which are distributed on the surface of the card in a defined arrangement. The connector 2 includes a flexible multi-conductor circuit 7, of the ribbon type, which, in addition to conventionally connectable circuit-end conductors, includes, on the surface, electrically-conducting connection sectors 9 electrically connected to the conductors and having a disposition which corresponds to the arrangement of the zones 5. A card 1 positioning device 10, in which a portion of the flexible multi-conductor circuit 7 is housed, ensures the contacting by pressure of the sectors 9 on the zones when a card 1 is in a predetermined communication position after insertion into the device 10, so that an electrical continuity is established between the electrical circuit 4 of the card and the conductors of the multi-conductor circuit 7.
