Device for bidirectional transmission of digitised data via a bifilar electrical link between a central controller and dispersed peripheral units
Abstract
Abstract It consists of a controller managing the line exchanges and capable of communicating with each of the peripheral points in order to transmit information to it or instruct it to provide it therewith. The signals are transmitted by binary levels of differential voltage which are modulated in two-phase mode and transmitted as synchronous packets of variable length. The peripheral interfaces are managed by a straightforward microprocessor handling transmission and reception of messages, their coding and decoding, their analysis and verification and their execution at local level by various analog and digital input/output ports. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for centralising measurements and remote control under the supervision of a computer in an industrial environment or in groups of premises.
