Abstract The invention relates to a stacking machine in which once a stack of flat objects has been formed, the stack support surface 8 moves into coincidence 10 with the floor 7 of a container 2 provided to receive this stack. Different kinds of containers are envisaged, but in all these containers the floor has means, generally cut-outs 10 or joints, for taking the place of the stack support surface for keeping the stack of objects in position.
