Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to a linear induction electromagnetic machine. The machine includes a tubular duct 11 inside which a conducting material moves and an inductor 10 arranged around the duct 11 consisting of a plurality of coils 14 placed inside a magnetic core 12. The magnetic core 12 has a smooth cylindrical internal surface coaxial with the duct 11. The coils 14 are arranged in an annular gap formed between the internal surface of the magnetic core 12 and the external surface of the duct 11. The invention applies in particular to pumps for liquid metals such as sodium.
