Colour generating circuit for monochrome video monitor - uses tables in memory to produce colour signals from digitised grey level of black and white signal
Abstract
Abstract The video signal from a black and white camera enters s sync. separator so that after passing through a line and colour sync circuit. These signals are converted to colour sync signals for a monitor. The camera output also enters an A/D converter and bit selector. A comparator analyses the digitised signals with a reference signal from a contour generator. This generator allows a user to display a grey level and to produce a digitally coded signal representing this level. The comparator also inhibits a memory. The memory contains tables which allow the grey level to be assigned a corresponding colour in digitally coded form. These coded colour signals are applied to a D/A converter for entry to a colour monitor.
