Electrical pulse generator producing analgesic effect - applies short rise time pulses, which are amplitude modulated and passed through wobbulator to affect human tissues
Abstract
Abstract The generator is used to stop pains by acting on the nervous fibres, and is able to have an effect on all types of nervous fibres. The generator emits variable frequency current pulses which are applied to the aching part of the body. The pulses have a short rise time and are amplitude modulated at a predetermined frequency. Pref. the pulses are also lobulated and are emitted in successive trains separated by rest periods. The generator can, if necessary, emit unidirectional pulses only to avoid inconveniencing some patients, e.g those wearing a metallic prosthesis. The frequencies at the beginning of the operation are between 75-300Hz and are progressively decreased. The device does not include any accustonisation or inconvenience to the patient.
