Circuit breaker for armoured electrical installation - is externally controlled by rotary rod in which rotation is converted into linear movement within divider
Abstract
Abstract The device has a T-casing connected to three or four armoured metal covers and conductors within the covers which contain a high dielectric gas such as sulphur hexafluoride. A tubular support at the casing centre contains a slidable mobile contact cooperating with a fixed contact secured to one conductor. A rotatable control rod has its axis passing through the intersection point of the conductors and normal to their plane. The rod traverses the casing and its support to allow external control of the divider. A control mechanism in the support converts the rotary rod movement to a sliding movement of the mobile contact to open or close the divider. The support being mechanically and electrically connected to one conductor aligned or normal to the conductor carrying the fixed contact.
