Abstract
Abstract The hinge connection for the back-rest (2) of a seat, such as the back seat of a car, which folds down over the seat (1) consists of a pivot mounted fitment (12) on the seat. One end of the fitment (12) has a locking hook (14) for fixing it to the ground. The fitment can be immobilised when the locking hook (14) is not correctly slotted onto an axle (8) on the floor. The fitment has a lengthwise hole (20) which is curved at the end, into which fits an axle (22) supported by the back-rest and pivoting with it on its axle (3).
