Consumable tube for transferring or sampling liquids - where contaminated bottom end of tube is cut off or discarded after each sampling operation
Abstract
Abstract A long tube of negligible cost is employed to transfer a vol. of liq. from one vessel to a second vessel; and the bottom end of the tube which has been in contact with the liq. is then cut off or otherwise removed and destroyed so a clean portion of the long tube is available for the next transfer or sampling of a liq. The tube may be made of any material and by any known process, e.g. moulding, casting, extrusion or drawing; and solid or liq. pistons may be used to create suction lifting a liq. into the bottom end of the long tube. For example, in manual or automatic sampling or analysis where there is no possibility that the liq. in one sample can contaminate another sample.
