Holder for halogen bulb - employs cut and formed leaf spring acting against bulb contact
Abstract
Abstract The halogen bulb is positioned precisely in height and direction in a holder to ensure that the filament is orientated correctly. This is performed by a spring acting on the contacts on the bulb. A h older for a halogen bulb is manufactured from an insulating plastics material and is resitant to heat. The housing for a spring has a support wall (1) with a slot (2) in which to position the spring. A shoulder (3) ensures that the spring maintains its position and also acts as one of the support points. A second shoulder (4) in a plane parallel to the first shoulder (3) acts as a second support for the spring. The spring comprises a metal leaf which is cut and formed into three sections forming the mounting for the spring section and its support against the bulb contact.
