Un extraction au solvant donne une fraction de brai carboné qui peut être transformé en une matière déformable renfermant plus de 90 % d'une phase optiquement anisotrope. Application à la production d'articles façonnés en carbone, tels qu'électrodes, filaments continus de carbone et de graphite, etc. A method of producing an optically anisotropic deformable pitch is disclosed. Solvent extraction gives a fraction of carbonaceous pitch which can be transformed into a deformable material containing more than 90% of an optically anisotropic phase. Application to the production of shaped articles made of carbon, such as electrodes, continuous carbon and graphite filaments, etc.
