Abstract The locking mechanism secures the rider's helmet to a motorcycle etc. by means of a single bolt, it being necessary to drill the helmet. There may be retractable eyes between the inner and outer helmet shells, or the helmet can be secured inside a cage, preventing it sliding sideways.
