Abstract
Abstract The furnace is fitted with a burner (3), within the wall (1) of the furnace. The burner surface (5) is flush with the inside of the wall and the burner has a quartz rod (31) associated with the electrical resistance (32). This resistance has a spiral filament (33) which extends above the surface (34) of the quartz rod and allows control of the burner as well as its ignition. A photo electric cell is connected to an amplifier which controls the gas feed to the burner. A glass tube (10) allows the radiant heat to be transmitted to the cell.
