Abstract
Abstract The feed chamber contains a nozzle for the carrier gas. The gas-solid mixt. is then accelerated ina cylindrical zone followed by a convergent conical zone, the latter being half the length of the former. Used for the jet grinding of abrasive solids, partic. brown coal or sand using superheated steam as carrier gas. Absence of vortex formation gives efficient utilisation of the kinetic energy of the carrier gas and minimises abrasive wear of the injector.
