Retaining wall of dry jointed precast concrete modules - prevents rocks falling on road and may use four legged modules of T-shape in plan
Abstract
Abstract The roadside retaining wall of dry jointed precast reinforced concrete components is designed to prevent rock-falls from blocking the carriageway. The precast components (2) project to the rear to form an anchorage with collecting debris and may be of either 'T' or double stemmed 'T' shape in plan. The relatively shallow depth of each component gives height and terracing versatility. The units of 'T' plan form may have equal depth rectangular section feet at the node and each member end, thus giving a regularly slotted elevation. The units of double-stemmed 'T' plan form are built up from three interlocking straight members of 'I' shape in vertical longitudinal in situ section. Primary 'I' shaped units (1) form the front elevation with secondary 'I' sections (2) locating normally in the elevation slots.
