Abstract

Abstract A cosmetic product which stimulates the metabolism of the skin contains a cosmetically active proportion of nucleotides associated with an appropriate support or vehicle. The cosmetic product is prepd. by hydrolysing, by chemical and/or enzymatic means, a material contg. nucleoproteins, nucleins and/or nucleic acids, to form a hydrolysate rich in nucleotides; the nucleotides may be isolated, and the product, or alternatively the hydrolysate, mixed with the other ingredients of the composition. The nucleotides revitalise the skin particularly by favouring the formation of keratin which is continually used up.
