Programmable switching assembly - makes use of individual timing units which are mechanically coupled by key allowing them to be stacked
Abstract
Abstract The control block is used to provide switching sequences at predetermined times for lighting and general electrical applications, where the basic timing mechanism is rotary. The design is intended to provide flexibility and accuracy of operation without excessive cost. Individual timing blocks (10) are made in the form of slabs and they are provided with a keyed circular recess (19S) on each mating side into which an interconnecting plate is fitted. This plate carries at its centre a thin disc which is set at right angles to the plate, the plate fitting into the keyed slot (18S) in such a way that a mechanical coupling is made between adjacent timing elements. Preset display is by a rectangular window (26) opening onto calibrated rotating discs.
