Abstract The capacity of containers can be increased without increase in thickness of walls and with significant savings in weight. The improvement is achieved by using containers based on intersecting spheres or cylinders. Many variations are possible, depending on the number of intersecting parts. The intersecting parts are preferably separated by perforated walls.
