Abstract
Abstract The device comprises a rod (1) with a fixed hook (2) and a further hook (3) movable away from the fixed hook in one direction only. This can be effected by an elastic bush (5) fixed to the movable hook, working in conjunction with a series of peripheral notches (1c, 1d) formed on the rod. Each notch can be in the form of a truncated cone with its base away from the fixed hook, and whose base diameter is equal to that of the rod, thus forming a series of shoulders. There can be a number of fixed hooks of different lengths, to suit the degree of spinal curvature.
