Casement bolt with indented casing wedged into frame - has holes for bolt and locking projection on capping clipped onto casing
Abstract
Abstract The casing (1) is wedged into a mortise formed in e.g. a timber window post and has a capping piece (3) which clips onto the casing. The casing has a reduced width upper part and bearing teeth (4) to receive the internally ribbed (5) plastic capping. The capping (3) extends for the full length of the operating linkage when retracted and has an aperture permitting lateral latch bolt projection, and a second aperture which acts in conjunction with a casing tenon (6) to fix the assembly in the longitudinal sense. The capping ends embody cover plates (13, 14) and the capping also has external indentations (5a) permitting its wedge location in the frame groove.
